About Me

I'm Sama Shamyar, a medical writer with a clinical foundation and a genuine commitment to turning complex science into something people can rely on to take action.

I trained as a doctor and a junior cardiologist. Before I ever wrote for a lay audience, I was reading trial data, coordinating clinical research, and co-authoring peer-reviewed publications and international congress presentations across cardiovascular and internal medicine.

That clinical grounding shapes every piece I write. Includingnearly two years as a GCP-certified Clinical Research Coordinator, one year of clinical cardiology training, alongside expertise from working towards Membership of Royal College of Physicians UK. I know what accuracy requires, because I've had to be accurate when it mattered.

Today, I work as a freelance medical writer, focused on medical communications and education, writing that helps a clinician, a researcher, or a worried patient understand exactly what they're looking at, and why it matters.
